Online registration for IRSCL Congress 2019: Silence and Silencing in Children’s Literature is now open. Please read the information below carefully before registering.
The registration form will link to secured credit-card payment of all fees in Swedish Krona (SEK). Conversions will be made automatically from delegates’ home currency. To check current rates of exchange, please see http://www.xe.com/ or similar sites.
Registration is valid upon completion of the IRSCL 2019 registration form and receipt of payment of all relevant fees. Upon receipt of completed registration form and payment, registrants will receive an e-mail receipt.
Congress Registration Fees
Congress registration fees entitle delegates to attend all presentations, receptions, and special events during the specified date(s). Lunches and coffee breaks are included, whereas the Congress dinner fee is optional. Please note that there are limited spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis for the receptions and special events, so delegates are encouraged to register at their earliest possible convenience.
Early bird fees are available until 15 April 2019. Deadline for registration is 8 July 2019 (24 June 2019 for registrants who pay by invoice). All IRSCL Congress 2019 Fees below are in Swedish Krona (SEK).

Congress Dinner (optional)
The congress dinner will be held at the Stockholm City Conference Centre on Saturday 17 August at 6 p.m. The dinner includes a three course menu and two glasses of wine or beverage of your choice.
350 seats are available for the congress dinner. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Delegates must make reservations and prepay to attend this event. Dietary restrictions are listed in the registration form.

On Thursday 15 August, the City of Stockholm will be hosting a reception in the beautiful Stockholm City Hall, famous for its grand venues the Blue Hall and the Golden Hall. Evening Reception at Stockholm City Hall
6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Includes a traditional Swedish Smorgåsbord (buffet) courtesy of Stockholm City and a guided tour of this famous building. Maximum 400 participants. Available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Theme Night at Astrid Lindgren’s Junibacken
On Friday 16 August, we welcome you to a theme night on Nordic children’s literature at Junibacken. Junibacken is a children’s cultural centre focusing on children’s literature, named after the home of Madicken (Mardie), one of world-renowned Swedish author Astrid Lindgren’s many beloved children’s book characters. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Includes a reception and panels with Nordic children’s book authors and illustrators, and a chance to get acquainted with the works of world-renowned Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. Maximum 300 participants. Available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visits and Guided Tours (optional; no fees, but signup required)
Visit to the Swedish Institute for Children’s Books
On the evening of Wednesday 14 August, there will be an opportunity for congress delegates to visit the Swedish Institute for Children’s Books, have a glass of wine and learn more about the institute’s work and library collections.
6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Limited number of spaces. Available on a first-come, first-served basis.
10–15 minutes’ walk or 10 minutes by local transport from Stockholm City Conference Centre.
Guided Tour of Astrid Lindgren’s Apartment
Courtesy of the Astrid Lindgren Society, we offer four possibilities to visit world-renowned author Astrid Lindgren’s apartment and learn more about her work. The tour takes about an hour.
Tours will be available on Wednesday August 14 (5.30–6.30 p.m. or 7–8 p.m.) or Saturday August 17 (2–3 p.m. or 3.30–4.30 p.m.). Sign up for tours in the registration form. A separate confirmation of the exact day and time will be sent out at a later date. Maximum 48 participants. Available on a first-come, first-served basis. Primarily for non-Nordic participants.

IRSCL Congress 2019 Mentorship Lunch Program
During the lunch break on Thursday August 15, graduate students and junior scholars will have the opportunity to meet with established scholars to build networking relationships and receive advice. Sign up as either an established scholar or a graduate student or junior scholar in the registration form.
If your cancellation is made before 22 July 2019, 80 percent of the full amount will be repaid. No refunds from 22 July 2019.

Paying by Invoice
If you choose to pay by invoice, the invoice will be sent to you via email within a few days. The fee needs to be paid within 14 days of registration, otherwise the registration will be deleted. A service fee of 120 SEK will be added to your total fee if you wish to pay by invoice. Please note that you are not registered until you have paid the congress fee.

Please note that although IRSCL Congress 2019 will make every effort to ensure delegates’ safety and wellbeing during the conference, we cannot be held responsible for delegates’ personal belongings or damage done to them or themselves.

Due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we are obliged to give you information on how we manage your personal information. We manage only the personal data you yourself delivered when you submitted your proposal or registered for the conference. We only use the data so we can manage your submission and/or registration. We do not sell, lease or distribute or in any other way make your personal data available for third part. Your personal data are saved for the purposes mentioned above and will be deleted after the conference. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding this.
General registration will open later in the Spring. At the moment, congress registration is open to congress speakers only.
